For example, the Canada Border Services Agency operates some 119 land crossings and 39 international airports, and currently employs some 14000 personnel. Correctional Service Canada employs about 18,000 workers across Canada. At present, about 102,000 people work as Canadian police officers or in Civilian support positions, and there are tens of thousands of people currently working in the private sector of law enforcement.

How Can You Apply?
Candidates interested in a policing foundations training must meet the following requirements:
- Possess a minimum of OSSGD or equivalent.
- Clean criminal record / Pass criminal records check.
- Pass aptitude test and demonstrate suitable English language proficiency.
- Must be in good health and be able to participate in physical fitness training.
- Undergo a detailed pre-enrolment interview.
Added recruitment requirements for a policing career:
- Police recruits must be Canadian Citizens or Permanent Residents at the time of application.
- Must pass physical fitness testing requirements.
- Must pass vision, hearing and medical tests.


Employment Outlook for Policing in Canada
According to statistics Canada, in 2021 there were a total of over 102,000 Canadians employed in policing-related careers. Of those, about 70,100 were front-line police officers, and about 32,000 were civilian and other personnel.
